Five Facts You’ve Gotta Know About TV On The Radio

The lineup for the inaugural Landmark Festival just keeps getting better. Brooklyn-based TV On The Radio will be performing their innovative and experimental sounds this September in West Potomac Park. Here are five facts about this revolutionary band.

1. The album art for TVOTR’s latest album Seeds moves.

2. Lead singer Tunde Adepimpe appeared alongside Anne Hathaway in the 2008 indie-flick Rachel Getting Married and Kristen Wiig in Nasty Baby.

3. Guitarist David Sitek is a renowned record producer. His clientele include the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Santigold, and Wale – who will also be performing at Landmark.

4. TVOTR collaborated with the legendary David Bowie on “Province” which appeared on their album Return to Cookie Mountain in 2006.

5. The band put out an hour long “visual re-imagining” of their 2011 record, Nine Types of Light. It includes a music video for every song off of the album.

BONUS FACT: Tunde Adepimpe’s last name means “the crown is complete” in Yoruba.
